Thursday 30 June 2016
One of the most exciting projects of Rotterdam celebrates the city! is without a doubt The Stairs: a huge temporary staircase, build out of scaffolding. Measuring 29 metres high and 57 metres long, this allowed visitors to climb up onto the roof of the Groot Handelsgebouw. An office block that was one of the first major buildings to be constructed as part of the post-war rebuild. During five weeks (16 May-19 June) over 360.000 visitors climbed The Stairs and enjoyed the view over the city. Media such as The Huftington Post (UK), Radio Monaco (FR), El Comercio (ESP), U Magazine Hong Kong (CHN) and many other local, national and international press published and broadcasted beautiful reports.
