Tue 5 May Het Park (by the Euromast)

On the 5th of May, The Netherlands celebrates its freedom and independence. In Rotterdam we do this with a Bevrijdingsfestival (Freedom Festival) in the park by the Euromast, with a line-up filled with music, debates and theater.

Celebrate Freedom with a party in the park!

Bevrijdingsfestival

We are free to live as we want to live in the Netherlands, and that is cause for celebration! So every year, throughout all of the Netherlands, there are Freedom Festivals on the 5th of May.

Ambassadors for Freedom
Every year, three Dutch artists are named Ambassadors for Freedom. Using Army helicopters, these artists are flown from festival to festival, together hitting all 14 festivals in one day, forming the basic line-up of each edition of the Bevrijdingsfestival.

Chilling in the Park
Besides the musical line-up, there’s plenty of other fun activities in the park on the 5th of May. There’s a festival market, a food court, speed date sessions with veterans, and a kid’s area.
