Performances and concerts, combining traditional Flamenco with other genres and styles, like contemporary dance and music, jazz, classical, baroque, and Indian music.
This bi-annual music and dance festival has been spotting the newest developments in the field of Flamenco since 2006, bringing imaginative creators, big stars and young talent to The Netherlands.
Over two weeks, the festival will show colorful and surprising flamenco performances in theaters and concert halls in eight cities. An extensive peripheral program can be visited at at least four locations in Rotterdam. On friday February 8th, you will enjoy a tribute to Michael Jackson in de Doelen, by El Periquin and Martin Fondse. David Carmona will be playing new flamenco harmonies in LantarenVenster on sunday February 10th. In addition to other performances, Flamenco Biënnale will be festively closed in Theater Rotterdam with Israel Galvan.
In addition to performances you can learn the flamenco dance and various styles during a multi-day Leonor Leal workshop or dance in a public masterclass under the direction of Vanesa Aibar.
Keep an eye on the website of the festival for an up-to-date overview of the program and the latest developments.
