The eighth edition of Internationale Architectuur Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) opens in two cities: Rotterdam and Brussels. This year's theme is Sustainable Development Goals. Expect an exhibition full of imaginatination, plans, projects, films, photos and maquettes at the impressive HAKA-building.
TheInternational Architecture Biennale is all about THE MISSING LINK this year: how do we change our behaviour so we can reach our climate goals? The IABR invited everyone to join the discussion about the sustainable city of the future. With an exhibition full of imagination, plans, projects, films, photos and maquettes at the impressive HAKA building this could be the first step.
Three curators, two biennales, one programme
The director of IABR appointed three curators: Dutch Rijksbouwmeester Floris Alkemade, Flemish master builder Leo van Broeck and Belgian architect Joachim Declerck. They will investigate the missing link. This will happen in one ongoing process of design research. The results can be seen at the work biennale in 2018 and the result oriented biennale in 2020. At the HAKA and surrounding M4H-area you can count on an extensive programme with debates, work sessions, lectures, conferences and tours.
