Classical music with a twist
This year’s theme is Russian avant-garde art, originating from the period around Revolution year 1917. Featuring various concerts and offering a stage to young talent.
Discover the music by composers such as Stravinsky, Prokofjev and Sjostakovitsj, still relevant a full century after their creation. Four symphonic concerts, two chamber music presentations and a family friendly performance make up the line-up of this event.
The festival offers plenty of space for young talent. Aside from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater, Valery Gergiev conducts an orchestra consisting of young talents studying at the Royal Conservatory & Codarts. On Sunday, the focus lies on the very youngest talents, presenting a performance based around The Firebird by Stravinsky.
