Four days of art, music, and performances at unusual locations in Rotterdam North. Allow yourself be astounded, moved, or inspired, and let the power of art win you over.
The Power of Art
On Friday and Saturday, several empty storefronts will be transformed into temporary galleries and stages for performances, live music, and other pop-up activities.
Due to the large-scale renovations taking place in the Zwanenhals area, many buildings and storefronts were temporarily vacated. The artists who moved in in the meantime decided to join forces to display the wealth of art this part of Rotterdam has to offer. The tours that they organized grew into a lively, multiple day festival featuring visual arts, live music, literature, and of course, a party!
Every year, someone working in the cultural sector is approached to be that edition’s guest curator. In 2017, this was Piet de Jonge: director of CHARLOIS SPECIAL, a bi-annual art festival in Charlois. Prior to that, he worked as head curator at Museum Booijmans van Beuningen and the Kröller Müller Museum.
